Here We go Again!
We are kicking off a card drive again in hopes of having an election to determine if the employees at Agora Cyber Charter School would like to be represented for the purposes of collective bargaining. The cards are used to show the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that you would like to be represented by PSEA and want an election to be scheduled. No one will know if you sent in a card. Card signers are never diclosed to the employer. Cards are given directly to the NLRB after we receive the required amount. Keep an eye on your mailbox for a communication from AEEA!
AEEA Sends Mailing to Homes
Recently AEEA sent a letter to each of your homes. If you did not receive a copy, you can view it here. More importantly however, that means we do not have a good address for you. Please contact Kelby Waltman confidentially at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 800-944-7732 ext. 7105 to provide your address so you may receive future communications.
New Forum For Election
If/when the Agora Education Employees Association receives enough cards, a petition for election will be filed. However, this time the election will be supervised by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). This is as the result of a NLRB decision in a charter school case in the State of Illinois. The Chicago Math case essentially says that if the charter school board is elected, then the state labor relations boards have control. However, if the charter school board is not elected, then the election will be held under the jurisdiction of the NLRB. Therefore, any petition filed for election at Agora will be filed at the NLRB.
